This pleated MERV 8 air filter from Smith is made from a special pre-tested blend of cotton and polyester fibers that are tightly bonded to a 28 ga, corrosion resistant galvanized steel and expanded metal support grid. The filter's unique design eliminates air bypass and features a 95% open face area. The special double-walled, die-cut, beverage board frame has a moisture resistant solid draft board which keeps the filter from collapsing even under extreme humidity. Designed for long service life, this medium efficiency, extended surface air filter can also help reduce your HVAC maintenance costs by protecting expensive equipment from damage and harmful effects. This filter performs well as the primary air filter in HVAC systems or can be used as a pre-filter to a more efficient filter.
